U13s Match Reports > Cwmbran Under 13s Vs Risca Under 13s

Cwmbran under 13's were at home on Sunday for the first game of the season against Risca.
With a much depleted squad and having to make use of some under 12's players.
Risca were first on the score sheet with a good try and conversion followed up quickly with a try from Lewis Hopkins playing at 10 for Cwmbran.
The next was a break-away try from Cwmbrans own 22 with Liam and Lewis Silver working well together in mid field and all hands to winger Tom Arnold to score in the corner. Risca came back with another try to put some more pressure on the home team. It was Tom Arnold who turned on the gas to score the next try after a long 60 m sprint just getting in the corner before being hunted down by the chasing Risca players. A welcome return to Callum Gormley who was up front with Ethan Webb and young Jake Kinsella. The pack were doing well against and older and much heavery pack with Alex Sully, Morgan Wiffen and Johnathan Fairless playing outstandingly in the back row stealing the ball and feeding inside centre Talya Athay who made a good break and laying the ball off for fullback Will Thomas-Pace to have along running for the next try under the post which Stephen Babos converting. It was at this point that some change were made and Arron Kinsella, Thomas Spokes were brought into the match and a lot was going to be asked from these younger players. The second row players today were Kieran Jones and Kyle Bucannan who between made a huge amount of tackles against the bigger Risca forwards. Risca made changes and they then score though their prop who had had a great game causing lots of work for the Cwmbran defence, which was converted. It was then the turn for Stephen Babos to score a good try and conversion to seal the game for the Crows.
Thanks to the Risca coaches and supporters for a good game of rugby, and the Cwmbran under 12's players, coaches and parents for helping out.
Training at Pontrhydyrun Wednesday 6.30pm Fields opposite the Ashbridge.
Any under 13 who would like to have a game turn for training.
Cwmbran ran out eventual winners.
Cwmbran 29 Risca 19
