Cwmbran Under 15s travelled to Monmouth for only their second game in 7 weeks, which showed as they were a little rusty in the opening exchanges. Not taking anything away from Monmouth who started the game very positively and put Cwmbran under pressure early on. The home side quickly went into a 12-0 lead but an excellent individual try by winger Iestyn Evans helped Cwmbran get back into the game. Cwmbran exerted more pressure in the second half through their forwards with Tom Mayne and David Powell leading from the front and after a number of phases Garin Harris drove over for an unconverted try. For the last 10 minutes Monmouth defended well but the Cwmbran pressure finally told as Mike Edwards drove over from close range to score a try which was converted by Elliot Short, this gave Cwmbran a well earned but hard fought 17-12 victory.
