Work Experience

Cwmbran RFC is committed to embedding ambition to work within their young members and is working with local businesses to encourage and promote work experience opportunities for the large number of young people at the club, which will provide the next generation of workforce to the local area.

Work experience has a key role to play in preparing young people for work. It provides an opportunity for young people to spend time with an employer to gain a practical understanding of why employability skills are important or it may give an insight into a particular career.  Each year about 35,000 young people in Wales go on work experience placements.

Work experience placements in Wales are managed and co-ordinated by Careers Wales working in close partnership with schools and businesses.  Work experience placements are timetabled into the academic calendar of individual schools and may be in blocks of one or two week or may be one, two or three days per week over an extended period if linked to a vocational course being taken in school/college.

If a young person has identified a potential work experience placement through a business or organisation associated with the club, we advise that a work experience self placement form is completed.  This form is available from the individual school when the work experience paperwork is issued to students in preparation for their scheduled work experience placement dates.
